How to Revise A-Level Maths in a Month: A Week-by-Week Plan

A month is not much time to revise A-Level Maths, but it is enough to make a real difference to your grade if you use it well. Spend the rest of week one turning your error log into a ranked topic list — weakest and highest-mark-value topics first. Algebraic manipulation, calculus, and trigonometric identities tend to sit near the top for most students because they recur across every paper.
Week Two: Targeted Content Repair
Week two is where you fix the specific gaps identified in week one, in priority order. For each topic on your list:
- Revisit the underlying method with a short explanation or worked example, not a full re-teach.
- Work through a cluster of graded questions on that exact sub-skill, starting easy and increasing in difficulty.
- Attempt one exam-style question on the topic and mark it against a scheme.
- Only move on once you can complete that final question without notes.
A common mistake here is treating all topics as equally urgent. They are not. A topic worth six marks across two papers deserves more time than one worth two marks on one paper. Weight your week accordingly.

Week Three: Timed Practice and Mixed Papers
By week three you should shift from topic-by-topic drilling to full timed papers, sat under genuine exam conditions: no notes, a proper clock, and the correct paper length. Aim for at least one full paper every two days across your units.
The purpose of this week is threefold:
- Stamina and pacing. A-Level Maths papers punish students who run out of time on the final third of the paper. Timed practice trains you to allocate roughly a mark a minute and to move on from a stuck question rather than losing ten minutes to it.

A month-long plan only works if it survives contact with the rest of your life. Build in slack — one lighter day per week — rather than assuming every session will go to plan. Common Mistakes in a One-Month Revision Window
- Starting with content review instead of diagnosis. Opening the month with a chapter-by-chapter reread feels safe but wastes time on topics you may already know well. Week one's diagnostic paper exists precisely to prevent this.

- Cramming new content in the final 48 hours. New topics learned under fatigue in the last two days rarely stick and displace confidence in material that was already secure. The final days should consolidate, not expand.
